WebWalter Ciszek was born on November 4, 1904 in Shenandoah, PA, the seventh of thirteen children of Polish peasant immigrants. His father Martin was a saloon owner who had worked in the coal mines. In later years, Ciszek spoke of the good example of Martin’s fatherly love.
