WebJun 4, 2024 · IL-6 has emerged as a critical cytokine in exacerbating the progression of CRS in T cell-engaging therapies. The significance of this effector cytokine has been increasingly evident in CAR T cell therapies as recent studies in both experimental models [ 7, 9] and clinical trials [ 10–12] demonstrate its pathological role. WebCRS usually occurs within days of T cell infusion at the peak of CAR T cell expansion. In ALL, it is most frequent and more severe in patients with high tumor burden 2-4.
