WebMay 22, 2012 · 2024 Honda CRV EX- 111, 000 miles – AC “Black Death” just cost me $2,600 at the dealership (absolutely outrageous) and that’s with Honda offering to pay for everything except new compressor and condenser install. I intend to file a case with Honda Corporation to help with the out of pocket cost.

Very expensive to repair because as noted, the crude gets through out the entire HVAC system. Not sure what years on the CRV's but this is the first I have heard of the concern on the Pilots.
